10 INSPIRING Modern Tropical House
To realize Lisa's dreams, Research Studio Panin, assistant professor dr. Tonkao Panin and Tanakarn Mokkhasmita, contributed. Their design began with attentive listening. "We are satisfied if we manage to transfer the everyday life of a homeowner from morning to night into every nook and cranny of our house plan, gradually building up houses resulting from our discussions with the owner how to withdraw and understand exactly what we hear. " This design met basic home needs, including functionality of use, features added incrementally to support the owner's natural habits, and principles of comfortable living such as "cross-ventilation" that allow the air to move freely through to move the building.
A semi-open deck in the middle of the house greets visitors and also captures the breeze from all directions as it moves from the outside in. It's more than just a stopover on the way, it's a comfortable place for the owners to relax. The building is designed to follow the contour of the property along a natural irrigation channel. To reflect this site context, a swimming pool is located parallel to the canal. The house faces west, but the problem of day-long heat is resolved by a reinforced concrete structure and an extended deck that adjusts to the reach of the sun. The eaves and porch have a steel framework that beautifully frames the surrounding landscape.
